Obedience & Retriever Training
At Y-Farms, we offer a Puppy
Basic's program, Adult Dog Obedience, Gun Dog, Hunt Test Training
and Boarding.
Puppy Basic's Program:
Our program is for young puppies (12 wks.
to 20 wks. of age) which includes puppy socialization, crate training, puppy
retrieving, basic obedience, introduction to field sights, sounds and live
birds. We feel that working with puppy's early in their life gives them a head
start for future retriever training.
Our obedience program is for all dogs and
all breeds. Regardless of whether he will be a performance dog competing in hunt
tests, a hunting buddy or a family companion it is important to teach obedience.
We teach No, Here, Heel, Sit and Down. We will also address any problems in
training that you are having at home with your dog. We are very hands on
with our clients and encourage you to come out while we are training and
be apart of your dogs training. It generally takes 2 months of training
for your dog to be completely obedience trained.
Retriever Training:
Our retriever training teaches all the basic
commands needed to have a successful hunting retriever. This program teaches
basic obedience, basic retrieving, force hold and force fetch, introduction to gunfire, whistle and hand
signals and live birds. It generally takes approx. 6-8 months of training
to have a dog finish our retriever training program.
**Due
to an active training schedule,
we are only taking a limited amount of retrievers for hunting and hunt test

Training
Grounds:
Our kennel is located on 100
acres of rural farm land and we also have use of 350 beautiful acres of land
north of St. Francisville, LA.
***Pricing for Obedience & Retriever Training is $450.00 per month. This
includes boarding, dog food, heart worm preventative, training ducks &
supplies.
