I hope all is well! Just wanted to reach out to you to see when you think it would be best to bring Honey back for hunt training.

She will be 7 months old on the 20th. She is a wonderful, loveable and very well behaved puppy;

(except for tearing up the screens on my back patio windows)! J

She is very obedient and has learned Here, Sit, Down and Kennel. I took her dove hunting on Monday and was very impressed with the way she handled herself.

She stays very close to me in the blind and she even picked up 5 or 6 birds! I was most impressed when we had a bird down in a canal and she swam out to get it (it took a little encouragement from me and all of my hunting buddies, but she jumped in and got it). Everyone was just as proud as I was and she received love and praise from everyone

Best, Lance Hopkins

Jennifer:
Darby is doing great. She has added a spark to both my and Brenda’s life. I have been overjoyed at Brenda’s response to Darby. I knew she would love Darby, but I was ecstatic when I overheard her giggling at the pups antics this morning when I was getting ready for work.
Darby is adapting very well and Brenda is learning the how to deal with “how to train and live with a LABRADOR” rules: Rules for Brenda, not the pup. . J
Darby adapted quickly to the crate in the car and the larger one here at the office. They are her refuge and she looks forward to getting into both them when she is tired. She already knows that she is to go into the crate here in the office whenever we enter the office building: When we get here in the morning I take her from the car to a grassy area about a 100 feet away and then play with her a short while before going inside.
This AM when I opened the door and told her “kennel”, she went in by herself.
“Potty training” is going much better than I remembered it would. J
Darby is showing lots of promise……. She is in preschool so it is much too early to judge, but I think she is going to be a winner.

Thank you so much for the best dog I could ask for.  He makes a perfect match for my family and my hunting buddy.  I was a little timid about getting a puppy, but this was well worth the puppy trouble.  I did all the "training", if you call it that, myself and got what I wanted.  The dog is very birdy and loves to retrieve.  He will leave everything else, just like his mom, to play or hunt.

We had an awesome dove hunt this year and took him out for the first time.  He ended up getting about 50 birds in 2 hunts.  I had to lock him up to get him to stop.  Even with the heat getting to him, he would not stop.  Scared the pee out of me.  Sorry no pics from these hunts.

Teal season was a blast.  Opening day we got 2 limits in 10 mins.  The second day was a little slower, took about an hour to get 5 limits.  Buck got all but 1 of these birds.  As u can see in the pic, he gets very excited about hunting.

Duck season was hit and miss until the last weekend.  Poor Buck didn't know what to think about all that shooting.  He worked his butt off to get out to the ducks, mud was waste deep, and still picked up 30 ducks.  We found an easier way in the next day and let him have free reign on 36 more.

Thanks again for a wonderful dog,

Jim Boyles

Tucker's six months old now and has blood trailed one deer at 3 months old. I
will admit we lost it at a creek ,but kinda young to be trailing that blood as
hard as he did. He made a b line straight for it! We've been working on it and
he's eager to give a real try again. Never would have dreamed how much of an
inseparable part of our lives he would be. Thank you once again!

Hey Jennifer, just wanted to let you know that Sage is doing great. We couldn't
imagine not having her! She is spoiled rotten, and has claimed the recliner as
hers! Ryan wants to get some information on having her trained some more. I have

attached our Christmas Card so you can see her! Hope yall have a Merry
Christmas!

Thanks, Lindsey!

So far he's adjusting great! We did go ahead and start calling him Duke because the kids were calling him Max and there are 4 Max's on our street already! LOL

Anyway, it's easy to see from the picture attached that he had a great first day at home and that he wasn't lonely for a second!

Thanks again for all your help! We couldn't possibly love this new baby more!

 Hey Jennifer and family!

Lu Lu is really enjoying herself and Cane loves her too!  She loves the backyard
and like a true retriever does not want to stop playing ball.  She is a little
timid inside.   She will come in the den and curiously sniffs around other rooms
but loves to lay by the back door.  She will soon learn that she can lay  where
ever she want to and is also welcome on the bed.  I have gotten her to go
through the doggy door but she hasn't done it by herself yet.  We love Lu Lu
soooo much!!  I am attaching a picture of Lu Lu and also of our black lab Delta
who I told you about.  I will be sending more pictures soon!!   Thanks again for
our beautiful angel!!

Merry Christmas,
Sheryl and David

Hey Jen,

I wanted to send you Ernie and Abby’s Christmas pic.  It’s hard to believe that Ernie has been with us a year now.  How quickly they grow.  I am still amazed how easy he was to train.  He is just a joy to be around and keeps everyone smiling.  Give hugs to Guss and Mattie for us.

Happy Holidays,

Lily and Randy

Rowdy did pretty good but with 14 people and 3 dogs including him he was sensory overloaded.  He even wanted to retrieve the wads from the shotguns that would fly out and land in the water!  My plan is take a day or 2 off work in the middle of the week and take him back to the same spot just me and him.  Then I can really work him.

11/15/10

From the weekend’s hunt! I took her in the blind Friday and she sat with me and did well! Spent the entire weekend at the camp with us and had a blast. I’m still working her into close range with a gun. I started late with that training and obviously am not rushing it. But regardless I am still very pleased with her! I tossed one of the ducks in the water and she brought it back with no problem! Next 2 things on my list of training is having her gun trained and retrieving to hand. She’ll bring back the bumper/duck, but I haven’t put in the full time training to get her to heel with the item. But hey, all in the fun of it!! Hope all is well!

Hey, just thought I’d shoot you an update. Rozo is doing great. LOTS of drive. I took her out of town a few weekends ago and she got to show off her skills in front of a good friend of mine and his two Labs. She was waiting her turn to get into the water and she was leaping halfway to the bumpers, ha! When we let them get into the water without a regime, she was beating the older 2 dogs to all of the bumpers and retrieving to hand (kind of…haha). Again, GREAT puppy and I appreciate what you’ve done. I’m looking forward to getting her out to the duck lease this year and getting her used to the surroundings. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hey Jenn,

Here are a few pictures of Sadie and Maddie. They are doing great! Maddie is such an active, wild child, she hops and jumps everywhere you could swear she was a cat. Sadie just tries to get out of her way but it is so fun to watch them two together. We love them dearly. Will send more pictures soon.

The First picture with the snow goose, is of one of her first hunts. It was taken in Manitoba. That was the day I figured out she was more than just an average retriever. The picture with the Pheasants is in Southwest North Dakota, it is a great picture, poor quality (disposable camera). The rest were taken in Maryland on the Eastern Shore. I'll try and get some more this year I have my own digital camera now.

Hi Jennifer,  It's Brandi Dohre.  Lizzie is doing great at our house; she's awesome with the kids, she's attempting to befriend our cat (but our cat is a little resistant), and she's just an all around great dog -- and really well-behaved.  We really couldn't be happier.
She has an appointment at the vet tomorrow and I was wondering if you could email me and let me know when her birthday was (or an estimate) and what immunizations she has had.  Whatever  information you can give me will be helpful.
Thank you so much for Lizzie.  She's just perfect.  I'll send you pictures soon.

Jennifer,
Here are some pics of Sadie.  They are pics of her first hunt and duck she retrieved and me and her airboat riding on our hunting lease.  Pics of her working in the pond and just around the house.  We have hundreds of pics, she is the most wonderful and easiest to train dog I ever had.  She comes everywhere with me, my mom and dad call her my shadow.  The ladies at the bank even let her come inside with me when I go to do my banking business every week.  We just had to put my chocolate lab down, he was 13 and it was time.  Was thinking about getting another dog, always looking at the website to see what litters were coming. Just wanted to let you know that she is doing very well and is in a great, loving home.  Yall have a happy Easter

Hi Jennifer,

I’ve attached a few of Ernie’s Christmas pics taken at 8 weeks.  He is just a little doll and very smart.  He has sit down pat and we’re working on stay.  I’m still amazed at how well he gets along with the other two dogs.  It’s like he’s been here forever.  Randy and I couldn’t be happier.  Give Gus and Mattie a big hug for us.

Happy Holidays,

Just a few pics for you to see the wonderful family pet you bred for us!  Bumper is a loving, obedient, gentle member of our family.  We all love him.  I can't imagine life without him now, so when he gets older, we may be making another trip to Louisiana for a new puppy!

Here he is hard at work guarding the little boys, Cooper & Cameron as they play in the back yard here in Hattiesburg.

Bumper the black-nosed reindeer with Cooper

The coolest dog in town in his favorite position - perched on the back of the loveseat like a cat!

We can leave him in the house if we go away, (which is rare, that we would all be gone at once - except for Sunday mornings) and know he'll leave things alone - even the trash!

Another shot on the loveseat perch.

A little love from Bryan.

Jennifer:
I was thinking about getting a e-collar to continue training with Harper.  I was wondering what you would recommend.  He is continuing to come along great, i just have been getting into a little more advanced territory, and i thought an e-collar would help.  Lulu is doing great, but as you probably remember, she performs on her own terms. Hope ya'll are well.  Things are going great is Shreveport, but we sure miss our favorite kennel. Thanks.

Jennifer,

My family visited your kennel nearly three years ago.  We came from Biloxi, MS, and had four sons that were then 15, 12, 4, and 2.  McKenzie's Marley of Y Farms and Alice & Dakota's Elvis were expecting a litter and after meeting with us, you recommended a pup from that litter.  My 12 year old son Bryan and I came back later and picked out one of the pups from that litter that would have born 12/25/2005.  After picking out the pup, I received transfer order to Hattiesburg and was actually hesitant on taking on a pup with a pending move; however, Bryan was set of getting a pup, and not just any pup, but that pup.

We named the pup Bumper and he has turned out to be the absolutely best dog our family could ever have.  With the age ranges of the kids, he plays with all of them at the level they are.  He dials it up a notch for the big fellows and tones it down for the younger two.  We homeschool our kids, so he is seldom alone.  He sleeps in the bedroom of Bryan.  Bryan said he could not sleep without having Bumper in his room, apparently a bit of a security blanket.  Our oldest will be going to college in a couple of months and I was talking with Bryan about him leaving in a few years to go to college as well.  He said he'd taken Bumper with him and I told him I didnt think they would allow that in the dorm.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop you a note to follow up and let you know that his personality and temperment were a perfect fit for our family.  He has made a wonderful pet and likes to be a part of the family, whichever part of the family happens to be around at the time.  He follows us upstairs when we tell the little two it is time to read books and get ready for bed.  He hops up on the bed and seems to enjoy the book reading time and then goes back down to watch tv with the older two.  While he will fetch a ball, go for a swim with the boys, and be as active as they are, he also enjoys just chilling out inside.  We could not have asked for a better match.  We appreciate the time you took with us when we visited and having the insight to match us with the right litter.

Thanks, Steve

Hello Jennifer,
Well I have some news regarding Dixie but first I just visited your web site and quite impressive.  You and Ben are doing great, congratulations!!!

Well, as for Dixie, our son Zack has done what we think a remarkable job with her and has accomplished two of his goals.  The first was to blood trail deer.  She was successful in finding a deer my brother shot and traveled about a half mile before going down.  Zack put Dixie on the trail and brought us straight to the deer.  The second goal was to retrieve ducks.  And she did!!  We made a duck hunt, on a slew where we lease our deer hunting property.  There were plenty of wood ducks and Zack and his friend managed to hit a few of them.  Dixie retrieved every bird!!  Nancy and I are very proud of Zack and Dixie, he has done a remarkable job training her.  His last goal is to enter her into a Dock Dog competition.  We missed the competition in Jackson Mississippi last fall and are waiting for an event semi-close to home.  I will keep you posted.

Dixie has become exactly what Nancy and I wanted for Zack.  The two are inseparable!  What a match made in heaven, or at least at Y Farms.

Thanks,

Bill Turnage

Good afternoon Mrs. Jen,

I have attached a picture of little bleu playing with her duck toy. She
was a pleasure on the ride home and was awsome last night she bearly cried
and slept all night. She ate supper when we got home, she ate this morning,
and just ate her supper. She is also already using a pad in the house. She
is an awsome and smart dog. Thanks for everything. I will send you more
pictures and emails as she grows. Again thanks for everything and talk to
you soon. Sorry about the picture it was taken with my phone.

Hey Yall,
Wanted to let you all know we will want Macey to be trained by you all probably starting in May. I have already been working with her on retrieving everywhere. She is a retrieving maniac. She has never grown tired of fetching and always (even after an hour and a half non-stop) will sit at my feet aching for the next throw. I have had her out to the duck lease and she is not gun shy. She will sit in the blind with me and wait patiently for me to send her out. (She got so excited after my 7 year old first fired off his gun she went out and wanted to retrieve a decoy.)
All that to say that I, in my very limited knowledge and experience with Labs, believe Macey will turn out to be a great hunting dog. She is already an awesome house dog.
Look forward to firming up training dates and plans this Spring.
Trust all is well with you all.
Sincerely,
John Vassar

I just wanted to show you how Drake is doing.  He has a great ability to learn and is very willing to do anything.  Even at only 15 weeks old he's coming hunting with us and even retrieving teal.  He has already learned about the launch pad for him and everything.  He even tried to pull the specklebelly in for us but it was a little much for him.  He is a blessing for us.  I just want to thank you for everything.  I registered him under the name Y-Farms Pintail Drake.  Again, thank you so much.

Hi Jen,
Please tell Ben that Izzy is doing so well.  She's walking beautifully on a lead.  Her sits are very good.  Her stays are so good compared to a month ago.  She's been behaving so well I decided to take her to Petsmart today.  It was the 1st time I've ever taken her out in public.  She was well behaved.  She was excited to see all the people.  She acts like every stranger we meet is a long lost friend and greets them with her body swaying and her tail wagging.  She got a little bored when I was taking my time selecting an item and she laid on the floor and put her head down.  There was an elderly lady in the checkout line who seemed to be mentally challenged.  She and Izzy got along so well...you'd have thought they were old friends...I'm not sure who was more excited...Izzy or the lady.
I just wanted you to know how good she's been....Kim Leblanc

Hello Jennifer,
I wanted to let you know how much we love Mossy (I know its a weird name!
Tim's farm is in Mossy Head).  She is already housetrained and slept through
the night from the first day. She is very smart and is calm- as calm as a
puppy can be- in the house.  Her favorite toy is Rosie my Yorkshire terrier!
Rosie is not to happy about that!

Jennifer,

I have regestered the pup under the name; Y-Farms 'Ace' of Spades.  He is doing great and right now looks kind of like a bowling ball.  He is sitting on command and retrieving a dummy.  We are very happy with him.

He had a good nine week checkup and got the next round of shots.  I gave my vet, Andy Plauche, your card.  He is looking for either a pup or started dog.  He said he was going to call you.

I would like to reserve a spot with Ben in March for Ace's force training.  Could you let me know if that is possible.

Thanks,

Houston Elkins

"Rose" (HRCH Elvis and SHR Sunny) pup

Gail was truly surprised and very happy to welcome Rose into the
Ferrand family.  We brought her to the house Thanksgiving morning and
introduced her to Pearl (our 18 month old black lab) and then in to
see Gail.  What a day!  We also had 18 family members over for the
day.  Rose slept almost all night that night.
It's one week now and all are adjusting nicely.  Pearl is still a
little confused about the whole thing but is acting like a sweet,
older sister.

Jennifer and Ben,

I have just spent another wonderful weekend with Shadeaux. She did great! She is 9 1/2 months old now, and has come so far. I am so excited.

We spent most of the weekend around my daughters camp on the Amite River. Sunday she went to work with me, and was so well behaved, I was wondering if I had the right dog. The rest of the day, she helped me clean up the yard. We trimmed one of the trees, and as you can see in the movie I attached, she was helping too.

She is so intense, constantly needs to do something. She takes every step with me. I have such good control over her I don't have to worry about her running off, or getting into trouble. With your continued guidance and help, I am looking forward to taking her to the next level.

The attached are a couple of pics, one of Shadeaux playing at the river and another in your backyard with Ben training Shadeaux. In the video clip, we are carrying the limbs to a pile on the other side of the fence, we have to stop to open the gate. Sorry about the shaky camera, it hard to carry limbs, hold camera, open gate, etc.

Thank you so much for everything both of you, and your family have done. Shadeaux has been so well cared for and has learned so much! Looking forward to continued success with her training!

Thanks,
Pam Flotte

Hello Jennifer, Ben and family,

I just wanted to let you know our Katie just turned 2 on August 31st and I
will be sending you a picture. It seems every time we take her out walking
or for a ride, everyone remarks what a beautiful chocolate lab. We're
often asked if she a certain special kind, saying she is the prettiest dog
they have ever seen.

I don't know if I ever shared the story of my husband's only daughter
Shanda being killed in a tragic car accident at age 23, our Katie has
helped fill a big void in his heart. I always check to see what is
happening at Y-farms website and see that Elvis and Sunny are having a
litter of pups, I would love one of those pups.

We have continued to get the Exclusive dog food at a feed mill about 25
miles to the West of Eau Claire, no one in our town (65,000) handles the
brand which surprises me.

I'll get that picture out soon. God Bless

Karen and Phil Nusbaum from Wisconsin

Can't rembember if I sent this to you yet.  Chlotilde is now learning hand signals for blind retrieves.  She's doing well.  I mentioned that  y'all might consider breeding Pinny and Hopper again.  Dan seemed excited about it.  Geaux Tigers. Padre

My father-in-law purchased a chocolate lab in the winter of 2006. I believe she is from your farm.
She was born in August of 2005 (she will be 2 this summer.)
His name is Jon Grover and we live in Maryland. He picked up the dog in Florida.

I wanted to make sure this was the farm, before giving out the information to one of our friends.
Kate is an incredible dog!!!

Thanks

Jennifer,

Chlotilde is getting force fetched.  I brought her to Dan Goldsby's place in
Amite this evening.  I am pumped.

He likes the pup. She's tiny, but a FIRECRACKER.  Maybe after he works
with her he'll get fired up about Y-Farms.

I enjoyed the training session the other day!

Tell Ben Hi.

Take care. Padre

Hi!

Well Colby finally got his puppy. He is a yellow lab. His name is "Cracker Jack" and we will call him "Jack". He is definitely one pampered pup.

Hey Jennifer & Ben-so sorry not to have written before now but it has been hectic around here with our new baby. River is doing great, where do I start?

He is:

 1.  ADORABLE
2.  Very sweet
3.  So smart
4.  So good

We have enjoyed every minute since we got him.  My next door neighbor comes over constantly to love on him & play.  My mother comes at least weekly if not more to see him, my sister flew in from Fla. the first weekend we had him to meet him, you get the drift, everyone loves him.  HE IS SO CUTE he should be arrested!  He learned to use his automatic water thing after only 3 lessons.  He goes right to it.  It is the thing that you attach to an outdoor faucet.  He loves his crate, he still fits in it & sleeps there at night & when I am at work from 9-12 & 1-4 or so, weekdays.  We put it outside on the patio on nice days & he has been sun bathing lately.  His current favorite "toy" is an empty plastic milk jug with a rock inside.  It makes so much noise, he loves to get it & run with it & I kick it & he chases it, wears himself out.

He was easy to housebreak, he goes right to the back door & turns to look at us.  The only time he has an accident is if we aren't paying attention.  We kept his crate in our bedroom at night till Feb. 20.  We'd move it to the den in the mornings.  Now it stays in the den all the time unless it is outside.  We got a big kennel to put on the patio to keep him in if we aren't out there.  Just till he's grown & trustworthy, ha.  We have too much he can get into unattended.
We will open our pool in the next month or so, that will be a blast I'm sure.

He weighed 20 lbs. on Feb. 27.  We still carry him around though!  He has a red tip on his tail with a little twist on the fur at the last inch or so.  It is so cute.  His markings are gorgeous.  John calls him "my little man" because he can look so serious sometimes.  John has started sit lessons, down & come.   Also informal canvas puppy bumper training, 4 or 5 at at time.  He does great.  Have takens tons of pics.  I will send some this week.

Hope all of you are well.

Hope all of his littermates & gorgeous Sunny are doing fine.  Gloria, John & River

Just giving you a little update on the pup I bought from you.  I have named him Czar.  The family just loves him.  He is doing well with kennel training and more importantly, using the bathroom outside.
He is doing great with the puppy retrieving, about 3-4 a day.  he delivers to hand well, I have not had to wrestle or chase him down to get the bumper and goes crazy over the duck wings.  he is already exceeding my expectations as a puppy.  cant wait to begin the more advanced training, I think he will be easy due to his intelligence and good desire to retrieve and please as a puppy. He'll be seeing the vet Friday for a check up,  hope to stay in contact and thanks again for Czar.

Kate is doing great, we are making good progress on basic obedience and
housebreaking. She likes duck wings and is the darling of everyone that sees
her. Attached are a couple pics, she's noticeably grown.

Take care,
Lee
