INFORMATION ABOUT US

Our kennel and farm started quite uniquely in the late 90's.

After dealing with the tragedy of the death of my 1st husband, Jeff in 1994. I was given a Black Lab puppy for my 2 year old little boy, Jeffrey. This puppy was quite a handful but he provided a source of unconditional love and he was a great little companion during a very difficult time in our lives. "Jesse" was the beginning of my journey with Retrievers.

Several years later, I met Ben and his Yellow Lab "Bull". Ben had grown up hunting and spending time with his Grandfather training dogs. Like his Grandfather, Ben had a way with animals, he had owned several different breeds in the past but preferred Retrievers. Together, we began our breeding program in 1998 and we have learned so much since then.

After raising retrievers for a few years, I felt that I wanted to breed better bred puppies with a stronger working desire and nicer pedigrees. I wanted dogs with working titles and we agreed that with a lot of time and effort this could be accomplished. We got involved in a local Retriever Club, Amite River HRC. We were so blessed that several folks took us under their wings and helped us with training issues as they arose. We also purchased several well bred puppies that we would be our future foundation breeders after they were proven with the necessary titles and health clearances.

Since then we have had several of our dogs that have competed in the HRC International Grand Hunt, we have trained and titled Hunting Retriever Champions, Hunting Retrievers, Started Hunting Retrievers, Junior Hunters and Senior Hunters. At the request of several of our puppy customers we began taking our puppies back for obedience and retriever training.

In 2002, we saw that there was a need for training ducks in Louisiana. Several dog trainers that we knew couldn't find ducks to train their dogs with on a consistent basis. After researching and asking tons of questions we thought we would try to raise a couple hundred. Well, that couple hundred has lead to 40,000 or more a year. We supply ducks for AKC Field trials, AKC and UKC Hunt tests, shooting preserves, wildlife research facilities, taxidermists and individuals who have ponds and lakes.

I hope that you have gotten a better understanding of what we do and why we love it so much. Our kennel and farm are a way of life for us and it would not be possible without the help and support of our family.

Our children Jeffrey, Madison and McKenzie are a BIG help and we are so blessed that they love our lives!!!
